Keynote: Materials Cycles and the Low Carbon Transition of the Energy Sector: Considerations for Aotearoa – New Zealand

 

Alan Brent is a Professor and the inaugural holder of the Chair in Sustainable Energy Systems in the Faculty of Engineering at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He is also an Extraordinary Professor of Engineering Management and Sustainable Systems in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He holds Bachelor degrees in Engineering (Chemical) and Philosophy (Sustainable Development); Master degrees in Science (Environmental Engineering), Engineering (Technology Management), and Philosophy (Sustainable Development); and a PhD in Engineering Management. He is a chartered member of Engineering New Zealand, a member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, an executive committee member of The Sustainability Society, and a member of the steering board of the Innovation for Sustainable Development (inno4sd) network.
