Bankole Awuzie is an Associate Professor in Construction Management at the School of Construction Economics and Management at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a PhD in Built Environment with emphasis on Strategic Construction Procurement from the University of Salford, Salford, an MSc in Construction Project Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom, and a BSc (Hons) degree in Estate Management from Imo State university, Owerri, Nigeria. Prof Awuzie' s research interests are situated along a multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary (MIT) plane with focus on the facilitation of sustainable, smart, and circular built environments in developing country contexts. He served as a lead Guest editor for a special Issue on Construction 4.0 and Circular Economy in the Built Environment Project and Asset Management (BEPAM) journal. Besides participating in various research projects as principal and co-investigator respectively, Bankole has authored and co-authored more than 100 peer reviewed publications comprising of journal articles in leading built environment and multi, inter, and transdisciplinary (MIT)-oriented journals, conference papers, book chapters and 2 books. To date, Bankole has supervised and co-supervised 4 doctoral and 11 masters by research degree candidates to successful completion. Prof. Awuzie is a Y2 rated researcher of the South African National Research Foundation (NRF). He serves as an Associate Editor with the Built Environment Project and Asset Management (BEPAM) as well as a member of the Editorial board of Sustainable Development.
