9th IWACP Experience

This website is the result of the academic community's efforts to make progress in Cleaner Production and Sustainability. Thanks to all the participants, for joining us in this journey, as we all are exploring a new territory and the challenges of converting a conference to an online version.

With more than 600 registrations and 270 abstracts included in the conference proceedings, the conference fulfilled its goal of continuing the important work of communicating important subject ‘’Towards Sustainable Energy-Water-Food Nexus: the Contribution of Cleaner Production’’.

This page contains the memories of this special IWACP, in a special year: conference proceedings, the video of webinar broadcast occurred online on May 26/2020, the videos of the stimulating works submitted and the speeches of the high-end researchers of our community.

Who We Are?

The "International Workshop on Advances in Cleaner Production" is a multi/interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of information and research results on technologies, concepts and policies based on Cleaner Production and conceived to assist the desired transition to a sustainable society.

Cleaner Production is a concept that goes far beyond the simple pollution control. It includes research and development of new processes, materials and products directed to promote the efficient use of resources and energy. Prevention must be the first approach of governments and corporations concerning sustainable development, and for this, environmental friendly strategies allied to economical robustness of products and services must be assured.

The adoption of Cleaner Production by governments, companies, and universities is getting speed with technical assistance and training programs, but it is worthy of attention that all these initiatives, even if implemented by all governments and corporations, do not guarantee the achievement of sustainable development. There is still a lack of a science, and consequently of a consolidated engineering devoted to the sustainable development.

Objectives

The "9th International Workshop on Advances in Cleaner Production" was an international forum held ONLINE in Melbourne, Australia. The "9th International Workshop: Advances in Cleaner Production" aims to promote:

1. The exchange of academic information

2. The presentation of recent achievements

3. The discussion of common problems and their possible solutions

4. The contact among academic knowledge and corporative experiences

5. The discussion of the event’s theme “Towards Sustainable Energy-Water-Food Nexus: The Contribution of Cleaner Production”

Researchers interested on Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development are invited to submit papers. Authors devoted to correlated themes are also welcome.

Supporting Journals

Journal of Cleaner Production is an international, transdisciplinary journal focusing on Cleaner Production, Environmental, and Sustainability research and practice. Through our published articles, we aim at helping societies become more sustainable.

'Cleaner Production' is a concept that aims at preventing the production of waste, while increasing efficiencies in the uses of energy, water, resources, and human capital.

The Journal of Cleaner Production serves as a platform for addressing and discussing theoretical and practical cleaner production, encompassing environmental, and sustainability issues in corporations, governments, education institutions, regions, and societies.

Journal of Environmental Accounting and Management publishes original research results in the field of environmental and ecological science with focus on applications to the sustainable management of natural, human-dominated, and man-made ecosystems.

The aim of the journal is to provide a place for a rapid exchange of new ideas and concepts for scientists and engineers in the fields of environmental accounting, human and systems ecology, and environmental management. Manuscripts on environmental accounting and managements are solicited, including: mathematical modeling; computational and management techniques in environmental, ecological, energy and information science; environmental technology and engineering; human managed ecosystems such as agricultural, urban, coastal, riparian, and wetland ecosystems.
