Announcement

COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic and is affecting our daily lives tremendously.

The Organizing Committee decided to maintain the 9th IWACP in May/2020, but due to the effects that COVID-19 is causing, the workshop will occur in a different way. Unfortunately, we will not be reunited in Australia this year. The 9th IWACP edition will occur totally ONLINE.

The Conferences, Plenary and Paper Presentations will be previously recorded and then available in this website on May, 26th, 2020. Please check the Program Menu to access detailed schedule.

The 9th IWACP opens several opportunities to publish your research works:

1) Send your abstract to 9th IWACP. After accepted, all abstracts will be published in the Proceedings Book. Some of the abstracts will be selected to be presented in video format. Authors will be informed at least two weeks before May 26th that their abstracts were selected and asked to record a video presenting their work no longer than 10 minutes.

The video will be posted in this website on May 26th. The main purpose is to spread to the 9th IWACP audience about your research themes and results, but unfortunately there will not space for questions & answers (this can be done through personal contact with authors).

2) After sending your abstract, please check the open Call for Papers in the Journal of Cleaner Production for participants of 9th IWACP.

Who We Are?

The "International Workshop on Advances in Cleaner Production" is a multi/interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of information and research results on technologies, concepts and policies based on Cleaner Production and conceived to assist the desired transition to a sustainable society.

Cleaner Production is a concept that goes far beyond the simple pollution control. It includes research and development of new processes, materials and products directed to promote the efficient use of resources and energy. Prevention must be the first approach of governments and corporations concerning sustainable development, and for this, environmental friendly strategies allied to economical robustness of products and services must be assured.

The adoption of Cleaner Production by governments, companies, and universities is getting speed with technical assistance and training programs, but it is worthy of attention that all these initiatives, even if implemented by all governments and corporations, do not guarantee the achievement of sustainable development. There is still a lack of a science, and consequently of a consolidated engineering devoted to the sustainable development.

Objectives

The "9th International Workshop on Advances in Cleaner Production" is an international forum to be held ONLINE in May 26th, 2020 in Melbourne, Australia. The "9th International Workshop: Advances in Cleaner Production" aims to promote:

1. The exchange of academic information

2. The presentation of recent achievements

3. The discussion of common problems and their possible solutions

4. The contact among academic knowledge and corporative experiences

5. The discussion of the event’s theme “Towards Sustainable Energy-Water-Food Nexus: The Contribution of Cleaner Production”

Researchers interested on Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development are invited to submit papers. Authors devoted to correlated themes are also welcome.

Supporting Journals

Journal of Cleaner Production is an international, transdisciplinary journal focusing on Cleaner Production, Environmental, and Sustainability research and practice. Through our published articles, we aim at helping societies become more sustainable.

'Cleaner Production' is a concept that aims at preventing the production of waste, while increasing efficiencies in the uses of energy, water, resources, and human capital.

The Journal of Cleaner Production serves as a platform for addressing and discussing theoretical and practical cleaner production, encompassing environmental, and sustainability issues in corporations, governments, education institutions, regions, and societies.

Journal of Environmental Accounting and Management publishes original research results in the field of environmental and ecological science with focus on applications to the sustainable management of natural, human-dominated, and man-made ecosystems.

The aim of the journal is to provide a place for a rapid exchange of new ideas and concepts for scientists and engineers in the fields of environmental accounting, human and systems ecology, and environmental management. Manuscripts on environmental accounting and managements are solicited, including: mathematical modeling; computational and management techniques in environmental, ecological, energy and information science; environmental technology and engineering; human managed ecosystems such as agricultural, urban, coastal, riparian, and wetland ecosystems.
