1st International Bay Area Circular Economy Conference

1st International Bay Area Circular Economy Conference

“Bay Area” usually refers to the port group and town group formed by many seaports and towns distributed around coastal ports, and the economic effect derived is called “Bay Area Economy”. Looking at the world, the “Bay Area” has become an important growth pole for world economic development, and it is also a new carrier for international competitiveness, especially for innovation. It is in this context that “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area District” emerged as the times require, and it is China’s forward-looking strategy to accurately grasp the new focus of international competition. What are the trends in the development of Bay Area District in terms of institutional innovation, urban integration, industrial synergy and green innovation? How do the three major factors of talent, technology and capital that enterprises care most converge and flow more efficiently in the Green Bay Area? How to support and guarantee economic technology, policy in the rapid development of the Bay Area?

Workshop

The 'China-Brazil Workshop' was envisioned to promote and accelerate circular economy by identifying synergies and opportunities for joint research.

Circular economy is all about making development sustainable. It means using our natural resources and designing our products in a way that extracted raw materials are used as sensibly and as many times as possible. A transition to a more circular economy holds major potentials, not only for the scientific research, but also for the competitiveness countries’ economies.

The 'China-Brazil Workshop' is a major tool to promote sustainable development in a global context, confirming Brazilian-Chinese leadership on circular economy and supporting the expansion of their activities abroad. The workshop consists of a high-level scientific meeting to discuss and exchange on topics of mutual interest between Brazil, China and other countries, such as Italy and USA that already confirmed to attend the meeting. Researchers fellows from other communities are also welcome.

The 'China-Brazil Workshop' will be held as a special activity of the 1st International Bay Area Circular Economy Conference that will occur in Macau on November 20-22, 2019.
