Charbel has been an Associate Professor at Montpellier Business School, Montpellier, France. He has experience of working for the University of Stirling (UK), UNESP-Sao Paulo State University, and USP-University of Sao Paulo. He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Cleaner Production (Elsevier), and Editor in Chief of Latin American Journal of Management for Sustainable Development. He has organized a number of special issues in prestigious journals, such as the European Journal of Operational Research, and others. His research focuses on sustainable management.
