Conference Title: From Waste Management to Circular Transition: Lessons from Public Sector Practice in Peru [abstract]

 

Dr. Diego Rodrigo López Ramos is an environmental scientist, university professor, and public sector specialist with professional experience in the circular economy, solid waste management, renewable energy, and local environmental governance in Peru. He currently serves as the Regional Coordinator for the project "Support for the Consolidation of the Peruvian Multi-Stakeholder Platform for the Circular Economy," led by the Lima Chamber of Commerce and the European Union. He also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at various universities nationwide.

He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences, a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management, an MBA in Senior Management, and a professional degree in Industrial Engineering. He also completed technical specialization studies in solar energy systems in Spain. His professional background includes leadership roles in local governments, as well as technical experience at the Ministry of the Environment of Peru (MINAM), where he contributed to environmental and social management processes in Arequipa. His work focuses on linking policy, territorial management, and practical implementation strategies for cleaner production and circular economy transitions.
