Our Vision

The ACPN is a multi/transdisciplinary forum that is built upon the perspective that Cleaner Production and Sustainable Consumption are powerful tools for continuous applications of integrated, preventive strategies when holistically applied in process optimization, and in ethical product and service design and delivery in “Accelerating the Transition to Equitable, Sustainable, Livable, Post-Fossil Carbon Societies.”

Recognizing that achieving the necessary transitions must be a collective responsibility, the ACPN is committed to:

Advancing Socially Responsible Learning for Living in Sustainable Societies

  • By collaboratively, catalyzing and supporting the inclusion of the concepts and principles of Cleaner Production and Sustainable Consumption in Formal and Informal Education and Training, at all levels.

Developing and Supporting the Application of Leadership Skills

  • To support adoption of sustainable production and consumption concepts, practices and values for innovation through our relationships with partners, stakeholders and policy-makers from the local to the global scale.

Expanding Research and Supporting Practical Innovative-Sustainable Solutions

  • By promoting a change of priority from ‘end-of-pipe,’ to ‘holistic and preventive’ strategies in our research and development activities;
  • By engaging product developers and producers designing and producing products and services which are environmentally sustainable and safe for the workers and consumers;
  • By engaging and empowering consumers to provide dynamic feedback to the producers and the governments on ways to make the needed changes;
  • By co-working with diverse NGOs to help to envision and implement needed changes in governmental policies, corporate practices and consumer behavior;
  • By encouraging development of quantitative metrics for assessment of the effectivity of Cleaner Production actions, practices and for measuring and reporting on progress toward more sustainable Societies;
  • By engaging policy-makers in fast tracking a low/no fossil-carbon future that is sustainable, fair, just and equitable.

Communicating Results and Progress Toward the Transition to Sustainable, Equitable, Livable, Post-Fossil Carbon Societies

  • To inform societal leaders, citizens, industrialists, educators, environmental authorities, NGO’s and international organizations about Cleaner Production and Sustainable Consumption benefits and about the progress being made toward achieving “The Sustainable Development Goals.”
